One thing I have noticed though, is that I almost never use the recent apps button. Is there any way I can remap it so that it will take a screenshot when I press it? I don't really like how I have to hold down the power button and the volume down button at the same time right now to do it. Most of the time I just end up turning down the volume, or opening the power down dialog.
I am running on the stock rom with the 4.1.2 update which I have rooted. ]]>

Why you should Immediately update your M to the latest version from Verizon http://www.razrforums.com/forum/droid-razr-m-general-discussion/3359-why-you-should-immediately-update-your-m-latest-version-verizon.html Mon, 22 Apr 2013 15:08:03 GMT New update is rolling out (98.15.66.XT907.Verizon.en.US)
It IS safe to root AND unlock. Root with djrbliss' Motochopper root exploit. (The older motofail2go does not work with 4.1.2).

I'm seeing several improvements - better, stronger wifi signal s
trength for one thing; better 4G reception in my fringe area; things just feel snappier somehow. There does not appear to be any downside to this upgrade at all. Even the exploit to allow you to use the mobile hotspot with your unlimited data plan still works. The only thing to be aware of is that you will want to make sure that the stock recovery is the default, and, of course, that your existing install is completely stock, ie no frozen or removed bloatware. Standard stuff.

While there are probably several ways you might accomplish this, for me, the simplest way was:
(1) Boot the phone up and use Titanium Backup and make a complete backup of your apps and data.
(2) Boot into your favorite recovery and make a full backup.
(3) Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. IMPORTANT: Data is retained when you RSD, and it's possible you might have something installed that could cause issues during the update later.
(4) Use RSD Lite 6.1.4 and return the phone to stock JB 4.1.1. (This saves you the hassle of remembering what you may have frozen or uninstalled, and also eliminates the need to remove any custom recovery as it reinstalls the stock one as default.)
(4) Boot up the phone and you will be able to get the latest update, either by a prompt or by manually checking for it.

I also found out, the hard "OMG I BRICKED MY PHONE" panicky way, that, should you decide to return to 4.1.1 and attempt to RSD your way there, the process fails right away with an error about gpt_main0. Apparently you can edit this line out somewhere and it will install. Not me, I decided to tinker around until I managed to wipe everything including \system, whereupon my poor phone would only boot into AP Fastboot. <insert sick panicky OMG feeling here> Fortunately, after I calmed down a bit, I recalled mattlgroof's DROID RAZR M Utility. I ran that and got back to 4.1.1 without having to know anything too techie.

I hope that my experience encourages you to go for the new update, and you won't be scared away by my n00bish antics. I think you will find this is one of those rare updates that actually lives up to its promises. Who knows? We might even see a 4.2 update some day! :D <--- me not holding my breath...
