On the status bar, I have two battery related icons. The one on the right side is the normal battery level one but on the left I have one that shows the battery percent surround by a circle. What put the one on the left in the bar? I see nothing in settings to turn it on or off.
The one on the right is good enough for me so I'd like to turn off the other one. BTW, the left one fluctuates a great deal (might show 30 when battery is as 90).
Thanks,

It is likely an app or widget that you recently installed. There was one a while back that I installed (Widgetsoid) that did this by default. Once I figured out what was doing it I had to go into the application's settings and uncheck the option.
Try to figure out what you've changed since seeing the icon, go into the application settings, and look for notification options.

It looks like the one in your image. See below please. Where does it come from? 09 for a level instead of 85 is not good. Can you post a screen shot? Just hold Power+Down Volume for a full second so we can see what your seeing.

Probably there from whatever app you are using for the toggles in your notification area. Perhaps either "Notification Toggles" or "Power Toggles"
Power toggles was the reason for the battery level indicator.
Now I need to learn how to lock my phone so others can't change things when they borrow the phone.

In this case it probably was not someone messing with your phone, a recent update to PT caused the battery icon to show up as a percent circle, no matter what you had it set for before the update
