I'm trying to charge my RAZR MAXX with the power off, but it just keeps restarting. How do I convince it that I want it to stay powered down while charging?
Are you powering down before or after you plug it in?
Try powering down after you've connected to the USB and it should stay off.

Are you charging on PC or wall outlet? I think the PC restarts it....
I think it IS the PC. I'm looking for a wall brick. I'm at 3%. How much danger am I in if the battery loses all charge? I hear all kinds of dire warnings.
3% is VERY low. My understanding is you don't want to let it drop much below 10-15%.
Also - Many USB ports in a laptop or PC may not have enough amperage to charge the beefy battery in the Maxx. You may plug it in and find that it still loses juice. The exception may be USB 3 but I am not certain.
To be safe you may want to unplug it from the PC and power off until you can get it plugged into an outlet.

I've connected it to a wall outlet USB charger and it STILL powers back on when I shut it off. What is up with that?!
That is not consistent with my experience. If I power off and then plug it in, my phone will turn back on, but if I turn it off once it is plugged in it stays off. That is odd.

Guess I'll have to call Tech Support at the Verizon store for this one. Thanks for the quick responses!
